Mono Crystalline Silicon-Based Micro Thermoelectric Generator for Solar Energy Conversion

K.Ranjitha

This paper presents the design and simulation of mono crystalline silicon based micro thermoelectric generator (μ TEG) for solar energy conversion. A high electrical power can be obtained by optimizing the thermo leg length of the generator and a highly reliable μ TEG can be achieved by means of a bridge type design. A single thermocouple with its optimum thermo leg length, when operates at its maximum figure of merit, can generate an electrical power of 1.6065μW for the temperature difference of 10K. Thus the area required for lighting 10W LED is just 15cm * 30cm
